The profile relays Agnes Groome, 'Seeking Their Places in the New World' (1992), and cites Ontario District Marriage Registers 1801-1858, Bathurst, Lanark, Canada West, FHL microfilm 1,030,051 for the 1849 marriage. NOT ESTABLISHED: the Groome book was quoted second-hand via WikiTree, not examined; her forename appears as Jane, not Sarah Jane, in every record found.

Compiled, quality 1, and no record has yet been read that states Wenzel's birthplace: no birthplace has been set on the person row on the strength of it. The NSW naturalisation index 1834-1903 is the record that would settle it.
Harriet Rebecca Barber (sometimes spelled Harriot) was born 17 Sep 1860 in Wollongong.
Compiled profile, quality 1: the day and month come only from here. The year and place were already in the tree from the 1947 obituary ('Mrs. Nelson was born at Wollongong in 1860'), and both agree with age 90 on her Nambucca Heads monument.
There is a baptism record on ancestry.com that lists a baptism for Harriet Field, daughter of John and Sarah Field on 5th August 1838 and the very next entry, made on the same day, is for George Noakes. Kezia Noakes was Richard Crossingham's grandmother and it is possible that George is related to her and that maybe Harriet's family knew Richard's family.

A research note, not a record: it reports a Sussex baptism of 5 August 1838 for Harriet Field, daughter of John and Sarah, which I could not verify (Udimore and Beckley are NOT transcribed in FreeREG, and Ancestry is browser-only). If correct it would put her birth in mid-1838, not 1836 - see the conflict noted on her birth date. It also suggests the two families were neighbours in Sussex, Richard Crossingham's grandmother being Kezia (Noakes).
Recorded as a LEAD, not adopted: her birth place is deliberately left empty on the record. The claim that she was Irish is the only explanation offered for a surname that does not exist in FreeREG's Suffolk registers at all - a county-wide search for Brownley returns zero records, against eleven Debenham records for 1810-1830 as a control - but no Irish record has been produced, and 'Antrim, Northern Ireland' is an anachronism for a woman born in the 1790s.

Created here with NO dates and NO places: everything beyond the given name George is compiled and untested, and asserting a Queensland death would invite a wrong match. The two leads worth chasing are the ship Kate's assisted-immigrant list of 18 November 1854 (NRS 5316/4_4791), which would give his native parish and age, and a Queensland death index row for 1889, which names both parents and would push this line back another generation.

1822 general muster lists her as Jane Wylde, who came free on the Experiment. ... 1822 population book of Liverpool lists her as Jane Wyld. It says she came free to Australia on the Experiment, (Master: "Weathers"), and had 1 male child with her. In the next entry John Barber is listed as a convict (Wellington, master Beetham) with the note "Husband to Wyld". ... The separate Land and Stock list shows a Jane Wire in Liverpool, which may be her, and says her land grant was 50.04.103 and she had 14 horned cattle.
Read through the WikiTree API (action=getProfile, bio field) on 2026-09-08; the wiki bold markers around the names have been dropped, nothing else is altered, and the ellipses stand for omitted bullet points. Cited for the spellings Wylde, Wyld and Wire, each of which is added as an aka name row. The profile also reports her remarriage and death, which are in genuine conflict: it says she married Richard Taylor on 22 June 1842 at St Saviour, County Argyle, as Jane "Wire", and died at Bungonia on 30 June 1853 (registration 1928/V39B, buried 2 July 1853, age 60) — while the SAME author's earlier webpage says she "died 1/12/1851 aged 49 years Philip St Parramatta" and was buried 2 December 1851. The profile itself flags the trap: there was another contemporary Jane Taylor in the Goulburn area. This record's 30 JUN 1853 is therefore left exactly as it stands, unplaced, until a registration is read.

The passage is WikiTree's transcription of Ancestry's 'New South Wales, Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896' (tree source 1188), image IMAUS1787_081222-0246 - which I could not open (Ancestry is browser-only). The same profile gives his death as NSW BDM 5412/1887 and his 1887 probate as 'Farmer, formerly of the Manning River but now of Mount Street North Shore Sydney ... WikiTree profile Watson-26239, read via the API 2026-09-07; again WikiTree's transcription of the Ancestry assisted-immigrant list, not read directly. This is the ONLY evidence for the maiden surname Watson - the NSW death index row for Harriett gives her mother simply as SARAH. Her death is given there as NSW BDM 999/1842 V1842999 26B, age 27, 'Sarah Field, Abode Kenwick, 27 yrs, labourer's wife', buried Narellan 12 September 1842.
There were an enormous number of deaths, particularly amongst the children. There was a severe diarrhoea and the food and medical attention available was terribly inadequate. Amongst the dead was John Nelson, the youngest of the four children in the Nelson family who was one year eight months old according to the shipping records.
Compiled profile citing the ship's records and a passenger's diary held by the National Library of Australia (MS 3169). He is the 'one boy who had died' counted on both parents' death certificates, and the reason the 1947 obituary calls William John 'the fifth child of a family of seven' while the parents in fact had eight.

DAVID HENRY NELSON, b. 1861, Macleay River NSW 8768/1861. died on 25 Jul 1951 in Mildura NSW Aust aged 90, and was buried in Northern Suburbs Seventh Day Adventist Cemetery m. PRISCILLA J. "Dolly" BARBER, 13 Jan 1886 in Kemsey. She was the sister of Harriet Rebecca Barber, who married William John Nelson, David's older brother.
Compiled profile; no death place set here because 'Mildura NSW' is self-contradictory (Mildura is in Victoria) and the burial is given as Sydney. The double marriage of two Nelson brothers to two Barber sisters is corroborated by the Australian Cemeteries Index, which names 'David Henry' and 'Priscilla Jean' as the parents of Olive May Barden and Harold Robert Nelson at Kempsey.

Compiled profile. She is the only one of the ten with no index row cited here: the Chrome pass searched BARBER births with father Joseph and mother Charlotte for 1845-1875 only, so 1876 was outside the window. A re-run to 1880 should find her registration.
A LEAD, NOT A LINK, and the compiled-tree half of the argument set out in the two Icklesham citations on this person. WikiTree (API action=getRelatives, keys=Crossingham-63, getParents=1, read 2026-09-08) gives Thomas's parents as Richard Crossingham, born 29 December 1758 at Hastings and died 26 April 1847, and Martha Simmonds. That was reached here independently from the register: Richard Crossingham, labourer, married Martha SIMMONDS at Icklesham on 17 January 1780; their son baptised there in 1784 was named Willm. SIMMONDS Cressingham; a Richard Crossingham of Icklesham was buried aged 88 in May 1847; and FreeREG has a Richard Crossingham baptised 29 December 1758 at St Clement Old Town, Hastings. WikiTree's 26 April 1847 death sits nine days before that Icklesham burial, which fits. NO LINK IS PROPOSED because no record names Thomas's parents and a compiled tree may simply have made the same inference. Its Thomas dies 3 August 1846 where the register buries him on 5 December 1846, so it is not reading the burial. The Ancestry search for his baptism is in the researcher's report.

A LEAD, not a link. WikiTree's Field-5859 research note says 'Kezia Noakes was Richard Crossingham's grandmother', and FreeREG's Sussex transcript holds one candidate baptism, quoted here in FreeREG's own column order (name, date, church, father, mother): Kesiah Noakes, 4 March 1781, St James the Great, to Thomas Noakes and Mary. She would have been 23 at the 1804 Rye marriage, which fits. But name plus county plus a plausible age is not identification, and the transcript does not say which Sussex parish 'St James the Great' is - so no parents are proposed for her.

The children list returned by the WikiTree API for John Debenham, quoted as the fields come back. Compiled, and now needed only for her DEATH: the birth is carried by the Chevington register above. Her Kempsey death of 7 August 1913 rests on this alone and would be settled by the NSW death index row, which names both parents.
A LEAD, NOT A FACT. WikiTree (API action=getRelatives, keys=Crossingham-63, getParents=1, read 2026-09-08) puts Richard's birth at Hastings on 29 December 1758 and his death on 26 April 1847, nine days before the Icklesham burial. FreeREG does hold a Richard Crossingham baptised 29 December 1758 at St Clement Old Town, Hastings, to Thomas Crossingham and Susanna - whose other children there were Thomas (1749/50), Henry (1750/51), Samuel (1752) and Sarah (1753), with Mary (1752) and James (1757) at St Margaret. That would be a further generation, but it rests on an age alone, so no baptism event and no parents are entered. Martha's death of 4 November 1809 is likewise not entered: no burial has been found for her, and she is absent from the Icklesham burial transcription.
