OCR "laie" = late. Notice of application for letters of administration, published fourteen days before application. Gives the exact death date already in the tree and names her husband and his occupation.

The heading of the probate notice. No place id is attached to this event: the tree's "Spring Grove" row is geocoded to the wrong Spring Grove (see the proposal note), so the locality is named in the summary instead.
John William Bowler, late of Mascot, N.S.W., fellmonger, died 26th October, 1969, intestate; letters of administration were granted on 21st April, 1970.
A fellmonger is a dealer in hides and sheepskins. Mascot, in Sydney, adjoined the Botany tanning and wool-scouring district.

Trove OCR of the statutory creditors' notice; the ellipsis stands for the recital of the Acts. An official notice sworn on behalf of the executors, so a direct record of the death date and the residence. Its executors are her son Hermon Nelson and Robert Robertson, the husband of her eldest daughter Elizabeth — both named as surviving children in the obituary, which is what identifies the notice as hers.

NSW Government Gazette probate notice, quoted as the Trove OCR stands (the surname is mangled throughout; both readings are 'Richard Crossingham'). Confirms the 7 April 1917 death, that he was a retired farmer of Moorland, and that he died intestate - administration granted to the Public Trustee on 15 June 1917.

Partnership notice, quoted as the Trove OCR stands ('Sidney' for Sydney; the closing quotation marks are OCR noise). Signed by Wenzel Grenenger and Ernst Grenenger — his brother, the Braidwood tanner James Ernest Grenenger (b. 30 Oct 1838, d. 16 Aug 1918 Goulburn), who is not yet in the tree.

Entry 995 in 'RETURN OF ALL MALE CONVICTS ASSIGNED AND TRANSFERRED IN THE MONTH OF MARCH, 1833'. The break in 'la-bourer' is the OCR reproducing the column's line break. Columns: number, name, ship, trade, assignee and district.
Under the heading 'THE undermentioned Prisoners of the Crown have obtained Tickets of Leave, since the last day of Publication', in the section COUNTY OF PORT MACQUARIE / PORT MACQUARIE. The list is set in two columns and the OCR has run the two entries together: the row is 'Saville Benjamin, Andromeda' (name, then ship), with 'Webb James, Norfolk 5' the neighbouring column. This corrects WikiTree, which dates his ticket of leave to 1833.

From the CONDITIONAL PARDONS list dated at the Colonial Secretary's Office 4 September 1848; each entry is name then ship, and 'Andromeda 2' is that ship's second voyage. Neighbouring entries quoted so the column format is legible. The same list appears in the Maitland Mercury of 13 September 1848, p. 4.
Immigration Office, Sydney, 25th April, 1853. IMMIGRANTS PER "JAVA." NOTICE is hereby given, that the ship "Java," arrived at Sydney, with 461 Immigrants, on Sunday, the 24th instant.
Trove OCR of the Government Gazette supplement, reflowed to one paragraph. It fixes the arrival date but does not name individuals; the passenger list is in the NSW assisted-immigrants index, which needs a browser.

NSW Government Gazette, ECCLESIASTICAL JURISDICTION notice, quoted as the Trove OCR stands ('Orassingbam' is the OCR of 'Crassingham'). It names the widow Henrietta and gives the death as 9 June 1874, against the headstone's 23 June 1874 - the two disagree by a fortnight and the registration 5972/1874 has not been read. The person row carries the headstone date.
NOTICE is hereby given that after the expiration of fourteen days from the publication hereof in the New South Wales Government Gazette, application will be made to the Supreme Court of. New South. Wales, in its Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, that probate of the last will and testament of the abovenamed John Field, deceased, who died on the 10th day of June last, may be granted to Margaret Ann Field, the sole executrix named in the said will.

Wales, farmer deceased' - reading John Field, farmer, of Mount Street, St Leonards. 'Who died on the 10th day of June last' fixes the death to 10 June 1887, which is the date already on this event. Proctor R. W. W. M'Coy, 52 Castlereagh-street, dated 24 October 1887. Margaret Ann Field, sole executrix, is his SECOND wife - Margaret Ann Albury, whom he married in 1848, six years after Sarah Jane Watson died at Narellan.

Quoted as the Trove OCR stands ('Jolm' for John, 'm' for in). The heading of the probate notice: he was still styled a farmer at his death, though he had left the Manning River for the North Shore.

Trove OCR. She died a widow — her husband William John Nelson had died in 1947 — and left a will, which is a small fact about her in its own right: the estate was administered from Macksville, the nearest large town to Nambucca Heads.
