Quoted exactly as the Trove OCR renders it ("77 Lakemba - treet" is OCR for "77 Lakemba-street"). Death date 8 January 1935 and age 93 both agree with the record (b. 29 May 1841). "Mr and Mrs. H. E. Trueman" is her son Harry Edward Trueman #21732; the three other couples are presumably her daughters and their husbands (Coles, Caldwell, Starr) - reported, not proposed, as those daughters are outside my lane.

Stuart' matches #35619 Edith Marion Henley (m. 1901, fam 10820), not #35607's only recorded wife (Mary Elizabeth Hayes, d.1886). This is the discriminator: identifies the Redfern 1932 death (reg 5601/1932) as belonging to #35605, aged 49, not #35607, aged 75.

It gives no maiden name, no birthplace and no parents.

It names a daughter, HARRIETT WORTH: that is Harriett Elizabeth Crossingham #82980, born 1863, whose married surname was Worth. The tree has her without a spouse.

The whole notice, quoted as the Trove OCR stands. 'sister of William Finch' gives her maiden surname. Her own children are Gertrude R H (1881), May (1883), Edith A (1889), Christina Marion (1892) and Harold Stanley (1897); 'Win' is most likely her son Wenzel Samuel (1886-1960). The nieces and nephews she is 'aunt of' are Wenzel's children by her sister Harriet: Bill = William Henry, Sophie = Sophia Susanna, Jack = John August #82881, Jennie = Jane J M #82914, George = George Edward #82916.

Four notices printed one under the other, read by me from the clipping (media 386) and separated here by ||. The Australian Cemeteries Index attributes the clipping to the Sydney Morning Herald of Saturday 2 October 1886. 'TO-MORROW (Sunday)' dates the burial to 3 October 1886. Wenzel Grenenger calls Samuel Finch his father-in-law although Harriet had been dead seven years: by 1886 he had married her sister Jane Sarah.

That is why his death date is entered as BEF 3 NOV 1927 rather than taken from any index row.

Quoted as the Trove OCR stands, including 'Ancust' for August and the broken 'year .' at the end. Short as it is, this is the record that identifies him: the address is the Lily Street, Enfield house his family gave in his daughter Julia's death and funeral notices of August 1908, and the Enfield his widow's 1927 notice calls him 'of'. An age of 74 in August 1917 puts his birth about 1843, which is why the Caheragh baptism of 1833 cited beside this is ruled out.

This one sentence does three things: it identifies the Julia Sullivan who died at Willoughby as the widow of the Michael Sullivan OF ENFIELD, i.e. the Lily Street household of the 1908 notices; it dates her death; and 'in her 82nd year' puts her birth about 1846. The funeral notice in the same paper (article 16416297) takes her from Our Lady of Dolours, Chatswood, to the Catholic cemetery at Rookwood, where her daughters Julia and Margaret also lie.

Julia Sullivan, named first among the executrices of Michael Sullivan of Lily Street, Enfield, is his widow — the woman whose own death notice ten years later calls her "relict of the late Michael Sullivan, of Enfield". It is a third independent record of the marriage, after that notice and the 1908 notices naming the couple together.

That is the basis for the death place.
