Notes
The DEATHS column of the Sydney Morning Herald, Wednesday 3 September 1941, page 16, clipped from the National Library of Australia's digitised newspaper (Trove article 17752786) at zoom level 5, segment 5 of 16 of the rendition. The notice reads: "SULLIVAN.—September 1, 1941, Hannah, second daughter of the late Michael and Julia Sullivan, of Enfield, and loved sister of Margaret (Mrs. J. Grenenger), Ellen and Edith. Requiescat in pace." This is the single most useful record found for this family: it names the Sullivan sibling set outright, it identifies Margaret Grenenger née Sullivan as one of them, and it establishes Ellen and Edith Sullivan as daughters of Michael and Julia. The SANDERS notice higher in the same column ("September 2, 1941, at Western Suburbs Hospital, Croydon") incidentally locates the hospital where Hannah died. Every other notice in the column is an unrelated family.
