The FreeREG transcript's own field names and values. This is the marriage of the William Finch and Mercy Walker whom the Australian Cemeteries Index names as Samuel's parents, in the parish it names as his birthplace, four years before his stated birth. It corroborates that the couple existed at Rayleigh; it does NOT prove Samuel was their son, and no baptism for him has been found — the Rayleigh Finch baptisms 1795-1830 on FreeREG contain no child of a William and Mercy. William Finch and Mercy Walker are therefore NOT proposed as tree rows.
