For Johann Carl Pech (1841–1934)

Mr. Johann Carl Pech, a resident of Appila district since 1873, having in that year selected land in the Hundred of Appila for far-ming, died at his residence on Thursday, February 9, at the age of 93 years and 7 months, having been born at Bantzen, Saxony, on 10th. December, 1841.

The opening sentence, quoted as the OCR renders it. It confirms the birth and death dates the tree already holds, to the day. "Bantzen" is Bautzen; the tree records the birthplace more precisely as Eulowitz, a village in the Bautzen district, so nothing is changed. The obituary also records that he selected half a square mile in the Hundred of Appila in 1873, was "a loyal supporter and member of the Pine Cteek Lutheran Church", and in 1900 toured Saxony, the German States, Austria and the Paris Exposition with his wife for four months.

For Hanna Laura Maria Pech (1883–1967)

and three daughters, Mesdames J. C. Wegner (Pine Creek) H. C. Jaeschke (Yan-diah) and W. Wurst (Laura) survive.

IDENTIFIED BY ELIMINATION, NOT BY NAME — read this before relying on it. The obituary names three surviving daughters by their husbands' surnames only. The tree already identifies two of them: Johanna Caroline Bertha #55422 married a Wegner, and Anna Christiana Lydia #57278 married a Wurst. The compiled sheet lists exactly three daughters, so the third, Mrs H. C. Jaeschke of Yandiah, must be Hanna Laura Maria. That is inference from a closed set, not a statement, which is why this citation is quality 1 and why NO MARRIED SURNAME IS RECORDED for her. Corroborating but not proving: a Councillor H. C. Jaeschke of Yandiah is named as a surviving son in his own father's 1933 obituary, and "Councillor and Mrs H. C. Jaeschke, of Yandiah" appear together in the Laura Standard of 26 October 1934. Her brother Paul Hermann had married into the same Jaeschke family in 1910.
