An old resident of the district in the per-son of Mr. Thos. Trueman passed away last Sunday morning. Deceased was 59 years of age, and was well-known throughout the district. His remains were interred in the Church of England portion of the general cemetery on Tuesday morning, a goodly number of townsfolk attending the funeral. The Rev. J. Alldis officiated at the grave.

The only Trueman death reported at Molong in Trove's run of the Molong Express and Molong Argus 1895-1900, and the forename matches the registered THOMAS F. "Last Sunday morning" from a Saturday 28 August paper is 22 August, a day after the 21 August recorded here, and the age 59 implies about 1838 rather than the recorded 1842; neither has been altered.

"Tuesday morning", in a Saturday 28 August 1897 paper reporting a death on the preceding Sunday, is Tuesday 24 August 1897. The paper says "the general cemetery" without naming it, so the event carries the town of Molong rather than a cemetery place. He is not in the Australian Cemeteries Index under Trueman or Truman for Molong, checked this session, so there is no monument transcription to test it against. This event stands or falls with the identification argued on the proposal.
Mrs. Trueman, mother of Mrs. Hector Caldwell, of Larras Lee, had the grave misfortune on Sun-day, to meet with a serious and very painful accident. The old lady, who is 88 years of age, had just walked out on to the verandah at the home of her daughter, with whom she resides, and was stooping down to pat their little dog when she suddenly fell, presumably owing to a rush of blood to the head.
Quoted as the Trove OCR stands; "Sun-day" is the OCR's hyphenated line break. She broke a bone in the hip and was taken to hospital by the Orange District Ambulance. "88 years of age" is a year short of her recorded 29 May 1841 birth, which would make her 89 in July 1930 — a newspaper's approximation, not a contradiction worth acting on, and her 1935 notice's "aged 93 years" agrees with the recorded birth. Larras Lee has no place row and I did not create one; the event points at Molong #4746, the nearest town row, with the locality named in the summary.
Mr. Caldwell's death occurred in Molong District Hospital on Decem-ber 23, and his passing is mourned by numerous friends. He was in his 81st year.

The same article says his widow survived him — "Left to mourn the death of a devoted husband and loving father are his sorrowing wife, two sons and eignt daughters" — which is consistent with Lilian Cecil dying in 1961, thirteen years later.
The funeral took place on Christmas Eve, after a service in St. John's Church of England, conducted by Rev. Drury. The remains were laid to rest in the Church of England portion of the Molong cemetery, Rev. Drury of- ficiating.

The happy couple were married in St. John's Church, Molong, on Christ- mas Day, 1893, by Rev. Canon Alldis, assisted by he Rev. Seymour Smith, names which bring back memories of a Molong of a wider and more spacious day.

The report of the fiftieth anniversary, celebrated on Christmas Day 1943 at their residence at Larras Lee, which also gives the family as ten children. This is the source of the exact day and the church; the registration gives only the year.
