For Spring Grove, New South Wales, Australia
After a great deal of excited discussion the name of Millthorpe was carried by 38 votes against 31.
Telegraphed from Blayney and printed the next day. The same report opens "A crowded meeting was held last night of the residents of Spring Grove who are for and against changing the name of the township to Mill-thorpe" (the hyphen is the paper's line break, kept as printed), and gives the reason for the change as letters and parcels going astray "on account of there being several places of a similar name on the Western line" - the very ambiguity that sent this row's geocode to the Spring Grove near Casino. This is the evidence for status historical, existedTo 1884 and the link to Millthorpe #4772.
