Quoted across the register's own printed columns: When Baptized | Child's Christian Name | Parents Name Christian | Surname | Abode | Quality, Trade, or Profession | By whom the Ceremony was performed. The abode cell carries two lines, "of this Parish" and beneath it "of Brede Minor", both quoted as written. This is the image, not a transcript, and it supersedes the Brede typed transcript (source 1952) on the two points where they differ: the parish of the ceremony, and the father's trade, which is Carpenter here and Labourer there. The surname is spelt CRESSINGHAM. The media row's auto-generated title says "page 7" - that is Ancestry's image sequence number, not the register's own page number, which is 2.

The "Quality, Trade, or Profession" column of the original Udimore register entry, quoted with the parents' and abode columns for context. CARPENTER here, against LABOURER in the Brede register's copy of the same baptism (source 1952) - the original is preferred. Across the family's registers he is a carpenter at Udimore in 1813 and at his son Thomas's Icklesham baptism in 1817, and a labourer in the Brede copy of 1813 and at Harriot's Icklesham baptism in 1822, so the two trades alternate rather than one being simply wrong.

The original register page naming this couple as Richard's parents, and spelling her name KEZIAH as the 1804 Rye marriage does (the Brede copy has Kaziah). Note for whoever picks this line up: this is the same Udimore register in which John Field, father of Harriett Maria Field #82898, was baptised about 1810 - he is "Native of Udermore Sussex" on the 1838 James Pattison passenger list. Richard Crossingham sr and John Field were christened in one small parish three years apart, and their children married each other on the Hunter River in 1856.
