FamilySearch's index to the Irish civil registers. An index only — names, dates, registration district and parents, not the register image. Its 'birth' date field is not always the date of birth: late registration was common and the indexed date can be the date of registration, which is why a baptism can appear to precede it. Individual records are addressed as https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:<ark>. Read signed in, in a browser. The register images themselves are at irishgenealogy.ie (source 1318).

For “Born” 1868 of Margaret Sullivan

Margaret Sullivan | Ireland, Civil Registration, 1845-1913 | Birth 1 December 1868 | Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland | Parents Michael Sullivan, Julia Collins Sullivan

The FamilySearch results-list row, quoted field by field, cited on the birth event it dates. The event holds the YEAR only: her Caheragh baptism was on 31 October 1868 and a baptism cannot precede a birth, so the indexed 1 December is almost certainly the date of registration.

For “Born” 22 SEP 1866 of Johanna Sullivan

Johanna Sullivan | Civil Registration | Birth 22 September 1866 | Skibbereen

The FamilySearch results-list row, quoted field by field, cited on the birth event. She was baptised at Caheragh the next day, 23 September 1866 — a one-day interval, which is what a real birth date looks like in this family and is the reason Margaret's indexed December date is read as a registration date.
