The Macleay Chronicle (Kempsey) 13 August 1908, p. 8, 'Obituary.' Secondary

For Elizabeth Debenham (1819–1908)

On Thursday last at her residence, West Kempsey, Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson, senr., passed away at the ripe old ago of 88 years from an attack of cerebral apoplexy. The deceased lady was born in Bury, England, and had been a resident of this State for over 50 years. She leaves a family of 3 sons and 4 daughters, grand-children and great grand-children.

Trove OCR ('ago' for age). 'Bury' is Bury St Edmunds, the market town whose registration district (Thingoe) covers Whepstead and Hawstead. The same column records the death two days later of her daughter Mrs William Henry Rowe: 'The deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Nelson, whose death is recorded this week.'
