Fort Edward birthplace rests only on an LDS GEDCOM quoted by the compiler. Name change to George R. Ferguson in 1805. Conflict not applied: this source names his father as Sgt Richard Ferguson U.E. (b. about 1728, d. about 1791, Prince Edward County, Ont.), whereas Maureen Ferguson gives his father as Richard Ferguson b. 1740. The father's record is left as Maureen gave it.

Richard married (1) Frederica Grant in 1784 in St-Jean, PQ. The marriage ended in divorce. Frederica was born about 1765. She died on Aug 9 1847 in Cobourg, Ont.
Maureen Ferguson's 'Fredence' is this woman. The compiler's 'divorce' is contradicted by his own quoted deed of separation and the 1842 widow's pension dispute, so it is recorded as a separation. The original land map shows 'Frederica Grant alias Ferguson' beside Richard and Israel in Hallowell-Athol-East Lake.

Clarissa Sherwood was born in 1800 in Elizabethtown, Upper Canada. She married George Richard Ferguson in 1823 in Ogdensburg, N.Y, USA. Her estate was left to her niece and nephew.
A UELAC Loyalist Trails article (2008-27) dates this marriage to about 1800; 1823 is adopted because it fits her 1800 birth and the compiler's detailed account of the wedding.
