Evidence for the maiden-name spelling. The register gives HINCHLIFF (no final e); the tree's primary name is Hinchliffe and her father #3961 is already recorded as James Hinchliff. Both spellings are real, so this adds Hinchliff as a variant rather than overwriting the primary. The separate aka 'Hinchley' on this record is attested only by the 1884 St Joseph's Townsville marriage certificate of her son Arthur (media 543), written 44 years later in Queensland — a heard spelling, not her maiden name.
