Our Greenock correspondent writes: "Mr. Samuel Mattschioss, a respected resident and pioneer, passed away on August 1 at the age of 86 years. Tbe deceased gentleman was born at Zulicliau, Germany, in 1820, and arrived in South Australia in 1858. He took up land in the Nain Hilis. where he farmed until a few years ago. Six daughters and two sens survive.
District obituary, Observer (Adelaide), 11 Aug 1906. Corroborates the tree's existing birth year 1820 and death date 1 Aug 1906 (previously cited only to an Ancestry compiled-tree note). Birthplace 'Zulicliau' (OCR, likely Züllichau) differs from the tree's cited 'Schwarmitz, Grünberg' but both lie in the same Grünberg district of Prussian Silesia -- not a contradiction, left as is. Proves Samuel is a DIFFERENT man from his brother Johann George Mattschoss #54669 (see that citation): different birth year, birthplace, arrival year, and death date/place.
