A 1953 family thanks notice (Advertiser 17 Aug 1953, Trove 48260819) calls him '(Tootsie) Roy Widen, of Barmera' and thanks the Returned Soldiers.

Doris (Mrs. Martin), the late Walter and Myrtle (Mrs. Haggie), and loving mother-in-law of Jim. Larry. Clarrie and John. Aged 80 years.
