The story focuses more on my father's brother's career in early aviation in Saskatchewan, but the local group here was particularly interested in his training in the RAF in Ontario during WWI.

Ruth Groome's framing identifies this uncle as her father Leslie Jaquest Groome's brother; independently confirmed as Roland John Groome (#81061) via the Encyclopedia of Saskatchewan / Wikipedia / Find a Grave, which give the same parents (Frederick Groome and Ruth Emmeline Jaquest) and the same dates. Ruth is also the source for present-day interest in his Ontario RAF/RFC training, which prompted her 2026 video (cited below).
