The date is very likely a transcription slip (day/month match the tree's existing 13 Jun 1881 exactly) since two of the couple's sons were born in Scotland in 1884 and 1886, and the 1891 Scotland census already shows them married and living together in Old Kilpatrick -- an 1891 US marriage does not fit. Helen is investigating further, so the place is added here but the tree's existing 1881 date is left unchanged pending that.
