For William Oscar Smith (1882–1927)

Our dear father, Arthur Edward Smith, was born at Charters Towers on 31st March, 1908. He was the eldest son and second eldest of thirteen children of Oscar and Jane Smith.

Corroborates the 1906 QLD BDM marriage record (citation 54648) giving the surname as Smith, not Nunn. 'Nunn' was his mother Sarah Ann Nunn's maiden surname, apparently transcribed onto the son in error. Setting Smith as the primary surname, matching his father Frank Smith and all recorded children.
