The register entry behind the FamilySearch index row already cited on this event, which gave only 'Essex' and 'Birth 1781'. A county-wide FreeREG sweep of Savill, Saville, Savell, Savil and Savall burials across the whole of Essex for 1815 returns ten entries and this is the only one dated 8 March, so the identification with the indexed row is secure. The age of 34 gives a birth in 1780-81. Takeley to Hatfield Heath is about seven miles. CAUTION for a later reader: Takeley is also the home parish of a different Savil family - Benjamin Savil, baptised there 30 September 1810 to George Savil and Elizabeth, is the Takeley Benjamin of the 1841, 1861 and 1871 censuses who died at Epping in 1889 and was excluded as our convict in an earlier pass. He is the son of George, not of this John.
