For “Died” 15 MAY 1864 of Susannah Wordley

DEATHS. On the 15th instant, at her residence Wallace street, Braidwood Sus[an]nah, the beloved wife of Mr. SAMUEL FINCH aged 44 years.

Read from the page image (media 406). The type in her given name is worn — it prints as SUS.NNAU — so the two restored letters are bracketed; Trove's OCR of the same notice reads '-On'the i 5th instant, at her resi debce^ Wallace street, Braid wood SUSANNAH, the beloved wife of SAMUEL FINCH aged 44 years.' Printed six days after the death. Until now the 15 May 1864 death rested only on the Braidwood cemetery index (quality 2); this is a contemporary notice naming her husband and her street.

For Susannah Wordley (1819–1864)

the beloved wife of Mr. SAMUEL FINCH aged 44 years.

Cited here for the age alone. Aged 44 on 15 May 1864 gives a birth between 16 May 1819 and 15 May 1820, which contains the 28 November 1819 birth already recorded from her Glemsford christening entry — independent corroboration of that date, not a new claim.
