For “Died” 7 APR 1917 of Richard Crossingham
Last Saturday the death of Mr Richard Crossingham, of Manning River, occurred at his residence, Moorland, after a few week's illness, at the age of 82 years. He leaves a family of nine children, three of whom are well know on the Nam bucca Mr. H. Crossingham, in the employ of the Shire Council, Mrs. Pullen, Jellicoe, and Mrs. E. J. Dalley of Nambucca Heads.
Nambucca and Bellinger News, 'PERSONAL', quoted as the Trove OCR stands. The rest of the notice reads: 'Deceased came from the Hunter River some 40 or 50 years ago to the Manning River, and carried on mixed farming and also the timber industry until 15 years ago, when he retired on his property at Moorland ... His partner in life pre-deceased him ten years ago.' The last sentence dates his wife's death to about 1907-08 and is one of the pins on Harriett Maria's 23 August 1908 death. Note the death occurred at Moorland, not at Taree (the registration district); Moorland has no place row in this tree.
