A genuinely new fact about the Angoniland man: he was back in New South Wales in 1912, marrying at Marrickville, between the letters home of 1903-06 and his death in Nyasaland in 1950. The Braidwood Dispatch of 1944 said he 'visited Braidwood once since, so far as we can learn, in about the year 1902' — this registration shows the paper's information was incomplete. Note the coincidence of surnames: his own mother was Elizabeth Brown, and his wife is a Brown too; they are different families and nothing suggests a connection.
