Mrs. Mary Carrick passed away peacefully at her residence Middle- miss-street, Mareeba, on Tuesday afternoon at the grand old age of 80 years. She had been ailing for some time and was confined to her bed for the past 12 months. Deceased was well-known in Herberton, where she resided prior to coming to Mareeba about 10 years ago. Her only son, William, died from the effects of war injuries shortly after they took up residence in Mareeba. She is survived by her husband and five daughters, Mrs. W. A. Brother-ton (Kaban), Mrs. F. Corley (Syd-ney), Mrs. A. J. Mazlin (Herberton), Mrs. G. A. Hoskins (Innisfail), and Mrs. A. E. Chewe (Brisbane).
