For Richard John Bligh (1819–1869)

John O'Connell Bligh was born in 1834 in Buckinghamshire, England. He was a grandson of Vice-Admiral William Bligh, the former Governor of New South Wales and central figure of the mutiny on the Bounty and the Rum Rebellion. Bligh was also a nephew of former Lieutenant Governor, Sir Maurice Charles O'Connell. He emigrated to Australia probably around 1850 and lived with his brother Richard John Bligh who had been Commissioner for Crown Lands and head of the Border Police at Warialda since 1847.

Names Richard John Bligh (this person, #50085) as the brother of John O'Connell Bligh (#50167), which the tree already records as a sibling relationship in family 15171. Wikipedia's footnote for the first two sentences is the Darling Downs Gazette obituary of 18 December 1880, which was fetched and is cited on family 15171; its footnote for the Warialda sentence is a Warialda Standard local-history piece, whose URL returned HTTP 404 and was not read.
