For Croydon Junction, Queensland, Australia

executive approval has been given for this sta-tion to be renamed "Baddow", which is associated with that of the site chosen by the late Mr. E. T. Eldridge, one of the pioneers of Maryborough, who settled at the old township con-tiguous to the place under review in the year 1848

Quoting the letter from the secretary to the Commissioner for Railways read out by J. Blackley MLA; hyphenation is the newspaper's line breaks. Corroborated by the Daily Mercury (Mackay) of 3 November 1931, 'CROYDON JUNCTION RENAMED' (nla.news-article170287081). Later agitation for 'West Maryborough' came to nothing - Baddow is the name the locality still carries.
