For Caroline Elizabeth Peirson (1855–1914)

Caroline H Lutman | 1914 Jun | Bristol | vol 6a p.183 | age 59

FreeBMD death index gives age 59 at a Jun 1914 Bristol death, i.e. b. ABT 1855 -- incompatible with the tree's recorded 1832 (82 at death, 56 at her 1888 daughter's birth -- the flagged implausibility). Same place and quarter as the recorded death 27 JUN 1914. Middle initial reads H not E in this index row; flagging for the moderator rather than suppressing.

England & Wales, FreeBMD Death Index: 1837-1915 Questionable

For Joan Andrews (1761–1839)

Death date: Mar 1838Death place: Devon, United Kingdom

Likely misattributed. A FreeBMD district lookup this session found TWO Joan Norrish deaths in this window: 1838 Mar at CREDITON (this citation) and 1839 Sep at TAVISTOCK (see the new citation on this person, and the 11 Aug 1839 Widecombe burial register entry 483, age 78, abode Huccaby/Lydford, which matches Joan Andrews's birth year and family abode exactly). Crediton has no known connection to this family. This Mar 1838 Crediton entry is probably a different, unrelated Joan Norrish. Left in place rather than deleted since it is still a real record of someone; a moderator may prefer to delete it.

For Joan Andrews (1761–1839)

Joan Norrish | 1839 Sep | Tavistock | vol 9 p.234

FreeBMD death index row (freebmd.org.uk), columns: Name | registration quarter | registration district | GRO volume/page. Tavistock is the registration district covering Lydford parish (Huccaby), where this family is documented living - consistent with the 11 Aug 1839 Widecombe burial above, whose registration would fall in the September 1839 quarter. This is very likely the correct registration for Joan Andrews's death, in place of citation #3097 (see the flag added there).

England & Wales, FreeBMD Death Index: 1837-1915 · General Register Office (via FreeBMD) · 1837–1915 · Ancestry

For George Manning (1794–1869)

"Deaths Mar 1869; MANNING, George; 75; Chard; 5c; 358"

Age 75 at death in the March quarter of 1869 implies a birth about 1793-94, correcting the recorded 1796. Consistent with a baptism of 11 Aug 1794 at the Ilminster Protestant Dissenters' register to a George Manning and Sarah.

For Stephen Maple (1795–1873)

"Maple Stephen, Mar q. 1873, age 77, Bridge, 2a 433"

Age 77 at a death on 10 Jan 1873 implies a birth about February 1795, matching the baptism of 15 Feb 1795 at Littlebourne and refuting the "abt 1796" carried by an existing citation on this person. Bridge is the correct registration district for Littlebourne. Caution: THREE Stephen Maple deaths were registered in Bridge district - 1858, 1863 and 1873 - and only this one is this person.
