Born about 1810 at Great Chishill, the birthplace her husband gave for her at the 1851 census. Great Chishill lies three miles north of Barkway and was in ESSEX until 1895, when it was transferred to Cambridgeshire - which is why the census calls it Essex; the tree's row is the general 'Chishill, Essex' one, there being no separate Great Chishill row. Her age of about 47 at her 1857 burial agrees.
