Arrived at Sydney as a convict on the Asia (2), master Reid, under a seven-year sentence passed at the Middlesex Gaol Delivery on 12 September 1821 for stealing a silver spoon. His certificate of freedom, no. 29/657, issued 30 June 1829, records his native place as High Wickham (High Wycombe), Buckinghamshire, and his trade as chimney sweep.
