The family's Queensland pastoral holdings began with Reedy Springs, north of Hughenden, established in 1862 by Charles Cumming Stone Anning and several of his sons, from which the nearby properties of Chudleigh Park, Mount Sturgeon, Charlotte Plains and Cargoon were formed.
