Drowned in the Brisbane River at Kangaroo Point, aged 9 years 2 months, about 6 pm, when he slipped between two coal punts near the railway wharf while going to light the lamps on the Mystery, where his father was engineer. He could not swim. The body was recovered by the Water Police at 8 pm. Inquiry held by Mr R. D. Neilson, 8 March 1910.
