'Fassifern Scrub' was the original name for the settlement that grew around August Engels' store; it became Engelsburg (the provisional school was renamed Engelsburg State School on 4 Sep 1879) and then Kalbar in 1916. No existedTo set deliberately: the six births recorded here run 1884-1896, i.e. the district name stayed in everyday and registration use for a decade or more after the settlement itself was renamed.
