## Timeline
- ABT 1814 — **Born** at Barkway, Hertfordshire, England — Born at Barkway about 1814-15 and baptised there on 18 September 1814, son of Richard Stacey, labourer, and Patience. The birth place is pinned on BARKWAY, not Therfield: the 1851 Barkway census - which is the only record giving Therfield - is outweighed by his own answer at the 1871 census, 'Birth County Hertfordshire | Birth Place Barkway', by the Barkway baptism (his parents' abode Barkway, and the only William Stacey baptism anywhere in Hertfordshire 1808-1822), and by his burial at Barkway aged 60. Therfield, nine miles off, may still be where he was actually born - the 1851 return is his own household's - so both readings are left cited and the pin is reversible.
- 18 SEP 1814 — **Christened** at Barkway, Hertfordshire, England — Baptised at Barkway St Mary Magdalene, entry 35, son of Richard Stacey, labourer, and Patience Stacey, of Barkway
- 1851 — **Occupation** at Barkway, Hertfordshire, England — Blacksmith employing one man, head of household at Barkway, Hertfordshire
- 1871 — **Residence** at Barkway, Hertfordshire, England — Head of household at Barkway at the 1871 census (RG10 piece 1359, folio 155, page 23, schedule 109), still a blacksmith at 56, with his wife Charlotte, 55, born Cambridge, his son Oswald, 20, also a blacksmith, and his daughters Mary Ann 25, Elizabeth 18 and Kate Annie 12
- 1874 — **Died**
- 1 DEC 1874 — **Buried** at Barkway, Hertfordshire, England — Buried at Barkway St Mary Magdalene, entry 304, aged 60, abode Barkway
