The register opening has been read (media 419, PAR 240/1/1/3, both pages signed by Henry Barwick, curate) and it names Richd. and Martha, but it is the pre-1813 format - date, child and parents only, no abode and no occupation column - so nothing on the page says why the family was at Bexhill that year.
- 1813 — **Occupation** at Brede, Sussex, England — Carpenter, the family living at Brede Minor (Little Brede) in the parish of Brede. The original Udimore register calls him a carpenter; the Brede register's copy of the same entry calls him a labourer.
