At this point, Maas has 1800 acres, of which 300 acres are under cultivation, mostly wheat.  He has 1200 sheep and a large number of dairy cattle which supply the local creamery and cheese factory.

On way home from mtg of Div Brd in spring cart, within 1 mile of home ran over a stump, cart capsized and pinned Maas to ground.  He lay for 9 hrs until his children found him on the way to school. Hospitalised, serious internal injuries.
