- NOV 1863 — **Emigrated** at Hamburg, Germany — Aboard the "Johan Casser".  He arrived in Queensland in May 1864.  He then boarded the steamer "Clarence" to Rockhampton.  He obtained work at Cotherstone Station, Clermont.
- 1868 — **Arrival** at Mackay, Queensland, Australia — He moved with Charles Walker (manager of Cotherstone Station) and his family.  He worked with Walker at Dumbleton Plantation and with John Spiller at Pioneer Plantation until the two fell out and Gustav returned to Germany.
- 1878 — **Occupation** at Mackay, Queensland, Australia — Pleystowe Mill
- 29 NOV 1879 — **Naturalised** at Mackay, Queensland, Australia
- 1882 — **Residence** at Eton, Queensland, Australia
- 1891 — **Occupation** at Eton, Queensland, Australia — He sold his first crop of sugar cane to North Eton Mill to be crushed.  It sold for 12 shillings a ton.  He worked the farm until he sold it in 1920.
